Kiba is prone to swearing, very loyal and highly protective of close friends. Tends to follow specific people around, though who that is tends to change based on closest friend present. He won’t ever leave someone behind if there’s even the slightest possibility that they can be saved and will whine as often as possible to get out of doing something he doesn’t like.
Though he’s a pain in the ass, he’ll never back out of a fight, especially if it means saving a friend, and he’s always willing to pick a fight. Has anger-management issues, so will throw a punch if you rub him the wrong way, but tends to be kept in line since he hangs out with close friends.
Apart from that, he’s friendly. Always willing to tag along with a team who’s one member short, and doesn’t mind taking point on dangerous missions. Even temperamental mutts know when to play nice.
Kiba input: “I mostly just go out looking for a fight. Bitter? Who me? Never. After all, life’s a bitch, and then you die... Sometimes it’s easier to pull off the dying part.”
H I S T O R Y
Kiba’s upbringing was pretty basic, and similar to that of everyone else’s in Konoha Dome. His mother had him training with dogs as soon as he was able to walk, trying to teach him the basics of what they needed and how to communicate with them both verbally and mentally.
At the age of four, his mother gave him a pup to train with, as was customary in their clan. He was named and the young boy trained with his newly acquired pet every day until the telepathic mind-link of their clan (due to their evolved state) appeared. He and Akamaru became a two-for-one set. He refused to go anywhere without him, which made school all the more difficult because along with his own boredom, he could sense the boredom of his best friend.
Reaching the age of five found him in school, along with all the others of his age, wherein he tried to shift more towards the Evolved members of his class, since the humans smelled kind of funny to him; something his heightened sense of smell was happy enough to provide. It was easier being around others like him though he found it hard to make friends because no one ever really tried to get close to one another. That happens when you learn at an early age that everyone dies young in the Dome.
School was never one of his more interesting periods of life, and he spent more time trying to escape from it than actually attending it. During that time, he met Uzumaki Naruto, who was probably just as loud and obnoxious as he was (actually worse, but he’d never tell the blond that). They and a few other classmates ended up skipping a lot to try and sneak out of the Dome long before they were ever allowed out. But when you’re eight years old and intent on adventure and seeing what the big deal was, you do stupid things. And Kiba did a lot of stupid things with Naruto. Most days, looking back, he was lucky not to have been killed.
As his school life progressed, his home situation wasn’t doing so well. The older he got, the more paranoid and possessive his mother became. He understood her fear, because he knew for a fact he looked like his dad, who had died long before Kiba had been born—some people said Tsume had barely become pregnant with Kiba when his father had died—but he didn’t appreciate her always hounding him and hovering and essentially controlling his life. At the age of ten, he’d had enough and since it was normal for most children to be orphans at that age, it was easy to get a roommate. It was even easier to convince Naruto to be it.
Living with Naruto (and of course, Akamaru) in a small room wasn’t exactly the best choice he’d ever made, considering his problems with sleep, but he was grateful to always know he had a friend to go home to at the end of the day besides just Akamaru. And Naruto mostly went off to do his own thing when they weren’t sneaking out of school, anyway.
Graduation came and went at thirteen, and he was assigned a team, along with all the other Konokeis in the school. Hyuuga Hinata was quiet, and shy, and he didn’t really know much about her, but she was evolved, so she smelled all right. How people smelled was very important to him. Aburame Shino, another teammate—he smelled different, but tolerable enough that Kiba found himself getting closer and closer to him as a friend. When you know your team has your back outside the Dome, you can’t help but want to make sure they think you’re worth it.
While bonding with his own team, he also met Naruto’s team. Uchiha Sasuke, while an elitist jerk, proved to be a lot of fun once he got the huge stick rammed up his ass out, and Haruno Sakura was definitely not someone he wanted to get on the bad side of, but appreciated her friendship once he understood how she was to be spoken to. While he tended to spend more time with his own team, he did get to know them as well when they all went out for drinks every now and then.
At the age of fifteen, whilst bonding remarkably well with his team considering his anti-social nature—having animal senses tended to make him feel more connected to Akamaru than actual people—he had another altercation with his mother, wherein after a few choice words from her mouth, he struck her. This, of course, did not go over well with her Wolf, who then attacked Kiba to almost fatal proportions. Akamaru jumped in, and by the time Tsume was able to control her animal, both Kiba and his pup were in terrible shape, and the medical teams took them both to their respective hospitals.
While there, he got happy visits from his team—Shino coming by alone and with the team—and from the boys of Team Seven. It took him a while to get back on his feet, much longer than Akamaru who was allowed to stay with him in the hospital once he was healed (you try saying no to a dog as big as a horse), but he eventually got there, though the excessive scarring from the attack would forever be present on his chest, left side, and back. His mother had since broken off all contact with him, which he’d been more than happy about.
At sixteen, after going out of the Dome with his team and their leader a few times, he came home one day to find out that Team Seven had been captured by an unknown enemy, and immediately implored his leader to be allowed out to help find them. After a week of not being allowed out, and constant begging from Kiba, Team Eight along with another team Kiba didn’t bother to learn much about was sent out to find them. Two weeks of nothing, and finally they’re found, and brought home. Just in time for him to lose Shino to an unknown cause.
His friend, while constantly said to be fine by his father, was not seen or heard from for months on end, despite Kiba’s constant banging on the teen’s door, and demanding the other come the fuck out. After a while, while not wanting to give up on him, Kiba decided that Shino would come out when he was ready, and he ended up continuing his training with Hinata, and their team leader, Kurenai Yuuhi. The nights consisted of drinking with Naruto and Sasuke—once they were out of the hospital—and of training during the day until finally, Shino decided it was time to come out.
Once he did, Kiba immediately noticed he smelled different, and while his eyes told him it was still the same person, his nose disagreed and he began drifting from the other slightly, mostly out of fear. After a while, a few incidents in their history allowed for them to become closer once more, and bygones became bygones once Kiba learned about the complexities of Shino’s life.
At eighteen, like everyone else, Kiba finally earned the right to leave the Dome without a leader, being mixed and matched with other people to form random teams, though always preferring to stick with the ones most important to him, and the ones he trusted most to watch his back. Team Eight, and Team Seven.
Years passed and while things remained the same with life, the world outside the Dome seemed to be stirring up a whole bunch of ugly, but hey, life’s only exciting when you have the prospect of death on your doorstep. And Kiba liked living on the edge.

For some reason, when he woke up this morning, Kiba had been thinking today would be different from the other days. That he wouldn’t be stuck in some shit-hole dome with stupid-ass people who did nothing but whine and complain and bitch about life. Sure, he was included in the aforementioned category, but he just retaliated with the same he was given. If someone whined at him, he whined right back until they backed the fuck off.
But no. He was exactly where he always was when he woke up in the morning. In his uncomfortable bunk, having gotten woken up by stupid people arguing about something outside his door. Because clearly the outside of his door was the best place to have an argument. Because there weren’t other places in the fucking Dome to have arguments. Of course not.
At least he’d solved his own problems by shooting at his door. That got them moving pretty quick, but he was almost certain his roommate hated him for the rudimentary wake-up call. That made him feel only slightly guilty, but the blond didn’t understand. Kiba was sick and tired of being a light sleeper because everything woke him up... even when Naruto rolled over. It really sucked. But, such was his life.
Of all the God forsaken piece’o’shit places I had to end up in, I ended up here. The brunet sat up, rubbing the back of his head and sighing, staring at the floor with a scowl. Figures.
